Benefits to Gay Partners
I am outraged by the apparent unwillingness of managers of the victims
compensation fund to provide the same respect and courtesy to partners of
those lost in this tragedy that they are so willing to offer to people who
are not legal citizens or residents of this country. Yet, it would appear,
because of prejudice, bigotry or the fear of criticism, you are willing to
overlook the needs of American citizens whose partners were lost in the
attack. Shame on you!! To agree to completely ignore duly enacted laws and
regulations of this country on order to assist people (illegal aliens)
whose loss is every bit as great as any one else's is all right with me.
But then in the next hypocritical breath state you will not do the same for
another equally deserving segment of the population is beyond decency. It
is just plain stinking thinking. It is wrong, flat wrong and no degree of
contorted logic can justify it.
It appears, based upon the logic you have used, that you could justify
giving money to the relatives of the terrorist who perpetrated the act
while at the same time ignoring the needs of the partners of the actual
victims of the attack. Pray tell, what is the difference?
You need to reconsider your policy. Common decency and logic demand it. I
demand it and my tax dollars are paying for it.
