Proper benefits distribution

Dear Sir/Madam:

I'm writing in response to recent statements that the 911 fund will not be distributing monies to Gay and Lesbian partners of the deceased in cases where state law does not recognize domestic partnership.

Although you are entitled to make choices as you see fit, your suggestion is incensing and disrespectful to the longterm partners/companions of those who perished. By saying that all types of partners (including alien's partners) will be recognized, except for gay and lesbian ones, you are making an implicit judgement about the worth of our relationships and the people involved.

Remember that if           (an openly gay man) had not helped to bring down flight 93, we might have had an even larger tragedy on our hands. Your actions dishonor his memory, and those of the countless dead Gay and Lesbian servicepeople, firefighters and average-folks who perished on 911.

I urge you to reconsider your position.
