To whom it may concern,
I, like all Americans, have been changed by Sept. 11.
Ignorance turns to anger and hate and impairs the
ability to feel compassion. I am committed to
increasing my ability to feel compassion to whoever is
oppressed for only then do we really stop terrorism.
Please, show compassion to those victims who were gay
and left bereaved family members. I am not gay but I
have recently become friends with a gay couple who
have a daughter. They are a family just like mine.
Please, honor all who died and make benefits available
to all family members, including the partners of gay
people. Have compassion, haven't we suffered enough
from ignorance and hate?
