FW: THE LIST: 9/11 Fund and Partners of Gays
Dear Mr. Bush, Mr. Ashcroft and Mr. Feinberg-
I am so incredibly ashamed of all of you for taking this cowardly decision
in deciding to hide behind a state's acknowledgement of same-sex partners in
whether the 911 Victims Fund will provide benefits to same-sex partners.
Since September 11, so many people have show amazing amounts of courage in
rising to a challenge that faced New York, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, and
the entire country. All of you, as well as the government of the United
States, could honor that courage by honoring ALL of the people who gave
their lives on that horrible day and provide benefits from the 911 Victims
Fund to the survivors, regardless of nationality, legal status, or sexual
orientation.
Gentlemen, it is 2003, and the time when your narrow-minded bigotry was the
status-quo has ended.
