Article: 9/11 Fund to Discriminate Against Gays

Dear Mr.Zwick,
It has come to my attention that the September11th Victim Compensation Fund, of which I am one of the millions of contributors, does not give assistance to the vast majority of partners and families of those 911 victims who were gay men and lesbians. THis is mind boggling and I strongly disapprove of your policy. I am also deeply disturbed that my donation turns out to be discriminatory toward a significant group of Americans.

I find your reasoning faulty, and wonder if this is a homophobic bias on the part of your department. Surely, if exceptions can be made for the families of undocumented aliens (a move that I approve of heartily), you can find a way to face the potential individual lawsuits you fear? For God's sake, you are part of the Justice Department, after all!

By way of information, I have copied the electronic article where I've learned about this issue. If it is in error, I would appreciate your response and send you, ain advance, my apologies. I am not one to spread incorrect information.

Thank you for your time,
