A response to victim compensation
Given the heroism of and numerous other unnamed gay heroes of
Sept 11 and its aftermath, I strongly protest that there is no national
policy in place as part of victim compensation for committed partners of gay
and lesbian Americans who gave their lives as heroically and tragically as
any others. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable in a viable
democracy. As Americans unite to recover from this tragic attack upon us,
let that coming together in recovery exclude no one.
