Please treat all Americans affected by 9/11 equally
Dear Victim Compensation Fund for 9/11,
I am writing to you today to ask you to compensate all partners and families
of Americans impacted by 9/11 equally. By all partners of Americans I mean
-- without concern for race, sexual orientation, religion or any other
variable in which people tend to be divided.
This is not a time to discriminate -- it is a time to show compassion for all
Americans, and a time to act from the heart for human rights, rather than
from some other political, religious or discriminatory reason.
The terrorists acted from religious, political and discriminatory reasons --
I urge you to provide automatically all partners (e.g., spouses/domestic
partners/gay and lesbian partners, people of color, etc...)the same benefits
as caucasian, heterosexual, spouses.
