Gay families
I am outraged at the victims' compensation fund's exclusion of the survivors of gay and lesbian partners. I have been in a committed relationship, as close to marriage as I am legally allowed, for over 22 years. You mean to tell me that if I lost my partner on 9/11, I would be entitlled to nothing, while people who, only by virtue of their heterosexuality and thus legal right to marry, will collect on average well over a million dollars? This kind of inequality is really starting to stick in my craw.
