att: Kenneth L. Zwick, regarding 9/11
Hello, im writing you in responce to the decision of discrimination of gays
in regards to benefits of 9/11. I really dont nor most of american can
understand why aliens, and fetuses are allowed benefits equally to other lost
americans , but if a person is gay, their families and partners are not
allowed the same respect of benefits. If we are taught to not refer to
someone as blacks, jews, asian, why cannot gays be considered to be an equal
as the previous mentioned. Im from a very religious background, and i
believe when god looks down on us he does not judge us by our sex, colour, or
financial status, but he sees us as his children all the same , all equal
except seperated by our decisions and actions but otherwise all the same in
his eyes. Why must the goverment still today feel as if they are in need of
a witch hunt, that there should always have a represenative to fight, one
that threatens the image of americans, gays are a victim equal here as
others, the bad guy here is terrorism. Some day this will be only a memory,
and we will have moved beyond this bigotted point of view, and YOU will
represent the foolish , prejudice, politician of this event, and not
remembered in a positive light, for you i quess see yourself as protecting
the image of america, how can this be for you have a double standard, and one
that will soon be viewed as outdated. Change cannot come quick enough in
this day and age with the views of your sort, may god grant us a quick change
of goverment, one updated to the here and now of where we are in the world,
and not from the narrow point of views of a few. I hope that someday you
yourself will be presented with the issue of having to deal with someone
close to you being gay, and maybe at this time you will see your mistakes....
