Please DO NOT Discriminate

It has come to my attention that the 9/11 victim's fund is not automatically allowing the same benefits to the survivors of same-sex relationships as ALL survivors of heterosexual relationships will receive. I do not understand why this should be the case.

This is even more disturbing when it is announced that illegal aliens will receive the benefits and that companies who have hired illegal workers will be overlooked so their employee's survivors can receive these benefits.

I am NOT against allowing "illegals" to receive these benefits, but I am definitely outraged by the fact that you consider Gays as a totally separate group that is NOT necessarily worthy of these well-deserved benefits.

Why are illegal aliens more worthy than survivors of a safe sex relationship? Why can the law be overlooked for "illegals" at the same time that you insist the fund operate to the "letter of the law" when it comes to gay spouses?

A hero is a hero is a hero; Gay, straight, legal, illegal, Black, White, Christian, Jew etc. All the heroes that died on 9/11 are the same. PLEASE, treat them equally.

Do not denigrate the names and heroic acts of these brave men and women based solely on their sexual orientation. Doing so is blatantly hateful and unfair and not worthy of a country as great as the United States of America.

Thank you for your consideration of my concerns,
