Victim Compensation

I am an American Citizen living in downtown Manhattan. I witnessed the entire tragic event of 9/11 from my roof and have been working diligently, ever since, to help in any way possible. I've donated time to the service tables at Saint Vincent's Hospital, I've collected money as well as donated food and clothing to the ground zero rescue workers. I have never been prouder to be an American.

That is until I heard that you and your fund are denying equal benefits to the gay and lesbian partners of those who died on September 11th. Your fund has decided to bypass Federal Laws and pay illegal aliens without any arrest or deportment, but say that you will follow each state's laws regarding gay and lesbian civil rights to the letter. Essentially, you are denying benefits to Gay Americans who were victimized by these terrorist attacks because in most cases the legal systems don't recognize gay and lesbian civil rights.

This decision speaks to your fund's hypocrisy and is evidence of your anti-American goals. Your bigotry victimizes many Americans and furthers the evil work of the terrorists.
