Discrimination against gay Americans
To use a term recently made popular by President
Bush, I think that the decision to discriminate
against gay Americans is "evil." I realize that
imposing the belief system of the bigoted
religious right is an activity dear to the hearts
of some officials in the administration with a
history of such activities, but this is America,
and I think that in process of our social
evolution we're going to have to add
anti-gay discrimination to the list of other
social evils we've outgrown, such as slavery and
anti-black discrimination.
