Please do what is right.
I am writing this to you because I have been reading newspaper articles that are saying that gay and lesbian family members will not be compensated for the loss of their loved ones the same way that heterosexual victims will be. I am deeply concerned about this and believe that the only fair and non-discrimatory way to compensate victims is to include those that are often marginalized. I am glad to know that illegal immigrants and fetuses are included, but find it an outrage that domestic partners will not be. Please reconsider this decision and do what is right--recognize gay relationships as valid despite laws that are lagging behind the times and social sentiment.
