9/11 Releif Fund

On September 11, Americans pulled together in a way that has not happened in my lifetime. I collected and donated money in order that those who directly lost a family member in the tragedy would be able to financially survive their loss. And I am outraged that the benefits that are being extended to illegal immigrants and unborn fetuses are being denied the families of gay and lesbian victims! It is about time that we as a country, and you as the disbursers of aid to the families, stop discriminating against the gay/lesbian/bi/trans community! A family is a family is a family; what you imagine as a family does not apply to all Americans. The loss of a gay or lesbian spouse hurts no less than the loss of a heterosexual one, and the support of family, friends and country is greatly needed. So please, reconsider your allocation of funds to include the families of gay and lesbian victims. Do not pass on this chance to show the world that all Americans are equal, and barriers can be broken down.
Thank you,
