Why Your Discrimination?!?

Hello DOJ,

As a tax paying, voting American citizen (who also happens to be gay) I find your decision NOT to compensate the gay/lesbian families who lost loved ones on September 11 the same as everyone else appalling, disgusting and deeply troubling.

It seems the compassion and patriotism 8/11 created didn't last too long in your hearts, and now that push has come to shove you'll ignore American law to compensate illegal aliens and the unborn children of those who were killed but disregard the very real loss and suffering experienced by same-sex couples. Shame, shame, shame on you all! What bald faced hypocrites you all are! If this is not poisonous and wretched homophobia, what is?

How many more years and perhaps (but hopefully not) decades need to pass on before the love of same sex couples is given equal status as the love of opposite sex couples. Trust me, if it were my own partner who was killed in New York or Washington on 8/11, I would be just as devastated as anyone else. And it seems, as you are passing out the benefits now, I would be the poorer for it as well.

I urge you to do the right thing and compensate any gay or lesbian family who lost anyone in the terrible destruction of 8/11 the same as anyone else, apparently even illegal aliens and those not yet born, despite there being NO laws on any books for these people.

I hope to learn you do the right thing, and soon,
