A Hero Is A Hero

After having read the story that domestic partners of gay and lesbian survivors in the 9-11 tragedy would not receive the same consideration as those of their heterosexual contemporaries, I must say that it sickens me to know that such discrimination STILL continues.

Gay, straight, black, white, protestant, jew...GET OVER IT. People are people. A loss is a loss. And it is only fair that everyone be treated equally during these trying times. Instead of trying to find MORE ways to segregate the human race, we should try to Unite.

I also believe we are doing the correct thing by retaliating, but we shouldn't retaliate against our own. Get over this narcissitic attitude that it's either "your way or the highway."

A loving, gay patriot - with a domestic partner of 12 years (This has lasted longer than both of my sisters straight marriages and my brother's)
