EQUITABLE COMPENSATION FOR GAY VICTIMS OF SEPT. 11

Why in the name of all that is true to America's spirit of equality and justice or before the God for whom all His children are worthy of love and respect would my federal government withhold benefits from surviving victims of the horrific attacks of Sept. 11th solely because they happen to be gay? Should it matter--really--whether that loved one who is about to have insult piled upon injury lived with his dead gay partner in New York or neighboring New Jersey? Should a child who has lost a parent be denied what Congress has said she is entitled to simply because she has two mommies or daddies? Why doesn't the government of ALL THE PEOPLE have the gumption to do what is right and not stand at the back of the justice soup line until the last recalcitrant state legislature has been fed? Terrorists may have blasted our gay bodies into a bloody dust in a matter of seconds, but the Bush Administration has planted its boot firmly on the survivors' still pulsing necks and promised not to let up until the last surviving homophobe has joined the 21st Century.

It's a bloody shame!
