Bigotry
Dear Sirs,
I am appalled that as a taxpayer, I am involuntarily bailing out all the
victims of Sept. 11, including fetuses and illegal, undocumented workers,
when the only thing that seems to guarantee one exclusion from benefitting
from this fund is being in the long term gay or lesbian domestic partner of
one of those killed. This is a clear case of convenient bigotry. You hide
behind the fascade of "state laws" when the fact that you are willing to
extend benefits to law breakers belies the bigotry that lurks behind this
policy. I am ashamed of you!
I am also curious whether I will be expected to shelve out money to
compensate future victims of terror. There will certainly be many more!
Why not victims of all kinds of violence? How about the families of the
embassy workers? How about abused or tortured women? How about the family
of   ? How about the surviviors of the next airline crash or
car accident?
Shame! Shame! Shame!
