While researching another subject on the Internet, I became aware of this:

If this article is true, Please let it not be, then the US Government is
missing an opportunity to show that compassion for human life is equal in
it's eyes. It is a sad day that we find it allowable to hide behind state
laws that discriminate against non-heterosexual families. My heart feels
grieved to think that, had this awful tragedy happened in the 1950s,
families of black people who were victims of that attack would not have been
compensated - for just the same reasons.
It is truly a sad time in American history when an attack on Americans is
compounded by the heartlessness of government officials.
