September 11th Fund
Dear Sir:
I must write to tell you that I am outraged about the decision to exclude gay
partners of the vicitms of September 11th.
The reasoning that their relationships are not legally recognized is pure and
simple discrimination against gay Americans, because we are not afforded the
right to marry. Also, if the DOJ can "overlook" illegal immigrants, there is
no reason that you cannot "overlook" the lack of a piece of paper between two
people of the same gender who loved each other and depended on each other for
financial and emotional support. Our losses are as deep as every other
American.
There was much talk following the attacks about Americans coming together to
unite against a common foe. Please stop trying to break us apart again.
Thank you for your attention.
