Dear Mr. Zwick;
I am disappointent by your office's policy to not treat gay and lesbian persons as full Americans. From Matthew Shephard to September, why is it that we have to be reminded that we are seen as less than others; our value diminished by a misunderstanding of what it means to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
After reading this article http://uspolitics.about.com/library/weekly/aa031102a.htm I find my belief in the American spirit somewhat tarnished. I realize that the ground swell of patriotism has limits, that my community is consider less American than others.
I urge you and President Bush to change this egregious policy. The blatant discrimination is truly un-American.
