Re: Compensation of partners of gay/lesbian victims of 9/11
Dr. Director Zwick,
I am writing to oppose the discrimmination of gay/lesbian victims of 9/11. You might say that the victims are not being discriminated against, but their surviving partners. I heartily disagree. I believe that the victims themselves are being discriminated against posthumously. By disallowing benefits to surviving gay partners, you effectively say that   and all other gays/lesbians lost in this tragedy, are lesser victims. How can our goverment justify giving benefits to illegal aliens and fetuses, and yet deny these partners?
Please restore my faith in the system, restore my faith in democracy. Please reconsider the decision to disallow benefits for surviving partners of gays and lesbians.
Sincerely,
