9/11 victim fund
To whom it may concern-
I would like to say that the recent discrimination of gay and lesbian
partners, of those killed in the September 11th attack, by your organization
is wholly unjust and goes against what America truly stands for. How can
you discriminate against people who have lost loved ones in this tragedy?
How hypocritical could you possibly be?! We should all be viewed as equals
in this country. That is what this country was founded on. We used to
discriminate against people of color but managed to see the inequity in that
way of thinking. And we changed our policies to include people of all walks
of life. Now we have to do the same for gays and lesbians. Don't send out
a message to the nation that we are still a country that condones prejudice,
against our own people, heroes in their own right. This is now what we, as
a nation united, are all about. Please reconsider your policy of
discrimination against gays and lesbians who have lost loved ones in this
great tragedy.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
