9/11 fund discrimination
To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to express my concern and to let you know that I
am outraged that gay and lesbian partners of those who died on September 11
are not automatically going to receive the same benefits as heterosexual
spouses. Did they not suffer a loss? Did this horrific incident not affect
their lives? Are their finances not as reduced? Should they lose their homes
just because they loved differently? This terrible and tragic attack was on
ALL of AMERICA, not just on heterosexuals! We MUST end the discrimination.
This attack on our country should have shown us all what is important and
what is not. By discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation we are
teaching our children that Gays are "less" than straights, this fosters hate.
HATE is NOT an American value!
