discrimination is un-American
To the Department of Justice:
I simply cannot believe that the DOJ wants "all" Americans to unite in their
support for the families and survivors of the 9/11 atacks--except for gays &
lesbians.
Given the fact that heroes have been made of the quite publicly gay men,
including the of the NY Fire
Department, killed in the collapse of the fist WTC tower, who showed their
patriotism to the nth degree, I am sickened that compensation is not being
given to the gay spouses and partners of these terrorist attacks.
At times the policies of my government make me very, very ashamed to say, "I
am an American" when the meaning of "American" is forced to mean bigotry and
chicken crap--and much, much worse. Shame on you.
