discrimination within the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund
Gentlepersons,
I have just returned from a pilgrimage to Selma, Alabama where 37 years ago I
took a stand against voting rights discrimination which was preventing
African-Americans from exercising a basic right of American citizenship.
Today, I am informed that only hetersexual Americans are to be given
consideration with reference to monies shared from the September 11 Victim
Compensation Fund.
Have we learned nothing about the evils of discrimination in the past 37
years. Are there no lessons to be learned from Selma? Do not our civil
rights include sexual rights?
When will we ever learn - when will we ever learn?
