Final Rule re: Gays and Lesbians


While I understand and respect the idea of honoring state statutes about domestic partner benefits in relation to 9-11 aid funds, I think the federal government can and should, in this case, take the high ground and see the big picture. There are many cases in which federal policies have been ahead of states, and while big government is not the goal, a just visionary government is. I do not believe you will be sued by states if you give aid to those who lost loved ones on 9-11. If on the off chance you are, the suits can have no merit simply because a one-time financial aid contribution is not in violation of anything. Thank you for reviewing this matter once again, with a wide open heart.
