9/11 Fund
I have just been made aware that the plan for distribution of the September
11 Fund to victims' families will exclude partners of gays and lesbians who
died that day.
I find this appalling. You are willing to bend the law and grant
compensation to illegal immigrants (something I don't object to), but when
it comes to U.S. citizens who happen to be gay or lesbian, you draw the
line. This is unfair and, in the case of those who died helping others or
making it impossible for the last plane to crash into the Capitol, a slap
in the face.
Please, honor all the dead equally by treating all of their living loved
ones the same. Include gays and lesbians in the distribution of the
September 11 Fund.
