In response to an email I received from a friend:

"To protest the exclusion of gay and lesbian partners from receiving U.S.government benefits for their September 11 losses, send a brief e-mail to victimcomp.comments@usdoj.gov"

I would personally like to add my opinion to this matter. These people, like any of the other family/marrige partners who lost a loved one in the tragedy, also feel the pain of loss just as deeply as anyone else. To exclude them is to show a prejudice against American citizens in a time of need. It isn't constitutional to exclude any American from the same rights that his or her countrymen benefit from.
