unamerican

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your discriminatory policy on compensation to the partners of gay men and lesbians killed in the attacks of September 11th was brought to my attention by a firefighter who risked his life at the WTC that day.

He (and I) are outraged that you would duck your moral responsibility to compensate ALL the victims of that attack. How can you justify bending the law to take care of the families of illegal aliens--which is a noble gesture--and ignore those gay and lesbian Americans whose lives were devastated when their partners were killed that day?

If the proposed policy sounds un-American to a firefighter who went rushing into the towers that day, then I have to agree.

It's not so much about the money as it is about respect for your fellow Americans. I hope you will be able to look everyone in the eye when it comes to discriminating between those who you say are deserving and those who you say are not.

Sincerely,

Individual Comment
