I would like to know how you can, in good concience, disregard long-term same
sex partnerships. Are we not human? Or is it you that lacks in humanity?
When you lose the one that you love and depend on, the one you planned for
the future with, is it any less devistating if you happen to be of the same
sex? I simply don't understand. Are we not all Americans?
We all cried on September 11th, we all prayed, we all stood up and shook our
fists in righteous indignation demanding justice. Are you now telling me
that I am insignificant? That I don't count?
I sure count when taxes are due, when you want my vote, when you want my
support.
I don't think it is unfair for me to expect you to support us now, all of us,
every American who lost their life on 9/11, and every American who grieves
for the one that they loved and lost. Sex doesn't matter. Religion doesn't
matter. Race doesn't matter. We're Americans. We support each other and we
do the right thing... don't we?
