Exclusion of gay partners

The inability of the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund to treat gay partners like other Americans underscores the low regard, if not utter contermpt, the federal government has for its gay citizens. Actions like the passage of DOMA and the military's exclusionary policies are terrible enough. Now I feel that I and my partner must pay our full share of taxes, without any of the tax breaks that heterosexual couples get, while being denied some of those services our taxes help pay for. Maybe your hands were tied by law, but I don't feel you tried much or at all to intercede on behalf of gay spouses who lost a loved one Sept. 11th.

Sincerely,
