It is unconscionable to me that the same-sex partners of those killed in
the terrorist attacks on 9/11 should not be compensated along with all
the other families that have suffered. I suspect, though can not prove,
that a prime motivation behind this decision is political-- awarding
compensation to gay people would entail too much risk for the current
administration. Frankly, I would much rather have no compensation
distributed whatsover than have these individuals excluded.
