Hello there.
I am no professional speaker, infact I am but a normal every day citizen of
this country. I do not have a fancy title that you would respect greatly. I
do have a title though I am often called "babe" or "honey" I am not sure if
that counts though. I am quite sure it would count for something If I were
heterosexual, but I am not so I dont know. I guess who you love is much more
important to some people than that you love with all your heart. I can tell
you this much. I think it is a shame that partners of Gay victims of the
sept llth nightmare may not receive the same benefits as those who are
straight. I am not an activist in any way, In fact this is the first letter
like this that I have ever written. I just think you should know that "babe"
or "honey" means just as much when you are gay as it does when you are
straight, at least it does to us. It may mean even more to us, We struggle
through life first trying to find someone who is like us sexually, and then
have to find the person who is right for us. I think it makes our odds of
success slightly lower than the average straight person, and so I believe it
makes the loss of a gay partner even more crushing.. I dont think that
anyone wants to be treated special for being gay, I know I dont. I just want
to be treated the same as anyone else.
