Distribution of victim compensation funds
It has just come to my attention that there is a good chance that gay and lesbian Americans who were killed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 may not be given equal rights to survivor benefits with others who suffered such extraordinary losses that day. I find this unbelievable in an age when we are all re-evaluating our attitudes towards those who are different from us. Please re-consider who will be compensated for loss and see that ALL survivors receive equal benefits, regardless of sexual preference. There is no room for prejudice in this distribution of survivor benefits. WE MUST ALL STAND TOGETHER TO SEE THAT EVERYONE WHO DIED THAT DAY ARE HONORED EQUALLY FOR THEIR HEROISM AND THEIR LOVE OF THEIR FELLOW MAN AND FOR OUR COUNTRY. We simply CANNOT dishonor our fallen heroes in any way.
Thank you for replying to this email. I look forward to hearing that this has all been a terrible misunderstanding on someone's part, and that all funds will be distributed to survivors without prejudice or exclusions.
