If what I have heard is true, that the gay and lesbian family members of victims will not be considered for compensation in the 9/11 disaster, I would like to know just why this kind of anti-American blatant discrimination is permitted. Every single one of the gay and lesbian victims of the disaster and their partners paid their taxes like all the "legally married" ones, fulfilled their civic duties, and some probably served in the military as well. This act of prejudice flies in the face of the principles of American fair dealing and causes more suffering and hardship for the ones left behind.

Americans pride themselves on honesty and fairness, but this kind of behavior continues. The European Union does not behave in this way, recognizing the gay/lesbian relationships of its citizens, and two of the EU's member nations recognize same sex marriage. Seems that they have advanced a good deal farther in civilized behavior beyond we primitive Americans.

When will you follow the principles of our own Constitution?
