What Next?

This is far too out of control!! First I read about this government fund to give survivors an average of $500,000 and now I read about making it all TAX FREE! What next?

The phrase "Money can't buy happiness" must be very wrong. If you throw enough at these people, I guess they might just be happy. And the nerve of them to tell you that they need MORE.

If I get killed in an accident tomorrow, will you pay my wife these monies?? I rather doubt it. Did the people in the airliner that lost its tail over New York get any funds? I haven't heard that they have yet and they shouldn't - at least not taxpayer dollars. If the plane was faulty, then sue the airlines.

Which seems to be what all this money is all about. If you accept the settlement, then you can't sue. Who are you trying to protect? If the airlines can't screen passengers correctly, then they should be sued and probably go out of business. Let an efficient, well run airline take their business. Are we now guaranteeing that these inept airlines can stay in business? Next you will bail-out Enron.

Please, come to your senses. Anyones death, due to an accident, due to acts of war, or whatever is tragic. The soldiers fighting in Afghanistan - some have lost their lives - have families also. I'm sure they are now wondering what to do. Are we going to pay them also? I hope NOT - other than their military benefits.

Enough said.
