confidentiality of claimants

I lost my husband in the attacks. I have two children.

I respectfully submit that it is a blatant violation of the Administrative Procedure codified at 5 U.S.C. Sec. 552a to publish the names of the victims and personal representatives on DOJ's website. Posting on the world wide web enables practically the entire population on earth to view those names. It is not difficult to predict that some of these viewers will engage in identification theft, make harassing calls, or even break in the homes of the victims. This day and age, it is easy to obtain personal information of others. Please do not make it easier for these criminals out there.

I understand that you may need to disclose this information to Congress in the report that is required under the Act. However, the general public has no need to know this. For the sake of my children, I will not sleep at night if submitting a claim will result in the worldwide broadcast of my husband's and my name!

Please give us some privacy by giving confidential treatment to the names of the victims and their families. I can be reached at             . Thank you very much.
