Advance Payment Criteria
I was at work in the .
My injury was a stroke that occurred the next day as a result of the attack.
I was not hospitalized for 24 hours or a week, however, I have not had a
paycheck since the 26th of October 2001 due to the poor system that the DOD
and Department of Labor has in processing worker's compensation. That is
almost two months and they do have the appropriate paperwork. I am out of
money.
This attack was not my doing and I thought I was in a secure work place. Now
I do not know if and when I will ever return to work. My expenses exceed
$8,000. per month and I support my husband who is 70 years old and has been
disabled under social security for many years.
What am I to do if I am not eligible for Advance Payment. I have already
received foreclosure notices and FEMA does not know when they can process my
claim and if they feel I can be awarded anything.
A supported and documented diagnosis was made without the required
hospitalization, therefore, for that to be a criteria I feel is
inappropriate. My injury is severe, permanent and disabling.
