I think that the Victim's Compensation Fund is a good program. However, I strongly dissagree with a few stipulations. I believe that there should be longer that a 24hr period for receiving medical treatment. Many of us who were there and injured on that horrible day did not go to the doctor 24hrs. later Personally, I was in such a shock after running for my life, and being wash a way along with others by a falling 100 story building, and having to walk 3hrs to get some form of transportation home from ground zero, that the only thing I felt by then was pure numbness. I finally went to the doctor 48hrs later, after realizing how much pain I was in. Many others felt that a lot of medical professionals would be responding to ground zero, and felt their injuries could wait, considering their life was spared. Therefore to say that someone should to have went to a doctor 24hrs later is unfair and unrealistic. Because the realty is, if you was not there running for your lives with us, being wash away like a tidal wave by a falling building with a force so powerful, being covered with thick grey sut, you wouldn't understand!
Sincerely,
