Why is the Gov't responsible?

I must have missed something, I dont understand why are we responsible to compensate the families of the victims of the WTC? As tragic as it is, who are these family members, that they should demand our government to pay any compensation to them. As far as that goes why are they getting all of this charitable money. Did they not prepare and pay life insurance like the rest of us? And what about the countless victims across America who dies every day due to crime. Should we not also compensate there loved ones? For as tragic as it is, Im sick of hearing these family members demand things that they should have prepared for long ago. And that is the samething we all must pass through, death.

You may not like this view point but I see a growing trend leaning toward this very issue everyday. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims of the WTC, but it also goes out to the family of the man who died because he was killed for his wallet.

You can hate the messenger, but the message is loud and clear.
