Victims Compensation Comment

Hello, I am not a victim of the WTC tragedy, but would like to comment on the compensation package as an average American. My compassion knows no bounds, but that stated, I feel (along with literally everyone I know) that the compensation package is extremely generous. The families left behind that will get 'little' from the fund did the right thing -- they planned for the future, and were not living beyond their means to begin with, like so many families seemed to be.
The media states nightly the American public wants to 'take care of these families'. I'm baffled. 'We' never expected or want wheelbarrels of money dumped on their front lawn, at our expense. I am both sad and insulted at the same time.
Private charities are still paying their bills, they will eventually get additional compensation from the charities, and all of this is tax free. Again, the current compensation formula is more than generous. Thank you.
