I do not agree with the victims' compensation law and I believe most other
Americans don't either. I am very sad about what happened on September
11th, but I didn't cause it and I should not be paying for it. No one in
the United States is responsible for this act. Who decided that it was
right to pay out all this money to these victims? This is not their money
to give away. Americans who want to donate have, through their charities
and THAT IS ENOUGH!
Where does this stop? Will we pay out a million dollars everytime someone
dies in a catastrophy? My father was in the Army for 30 years and fought in
countless campaigns, would I have gotten a million dollars if a terrorist
killed him? I couldn't even get adaquate military health care when he died
of cancer.
This law should be reconsidered before a single penny is given out. I think
that if you ask the American public how they feel about it, they would be
against it. The only reason we haven't said anything about it so far is
that we didn't know what was being voted on. Please tell me how I can get
the word out to get this law changed.
