Dear Sir: Tragic as it is, I do not feel that the US taxpayer is in no way responsible for the events of 9 11. If so, how and in what manner? I feel these awards at our expense are nothing more than a "bail out" for the insurance companys. The insurance companies are in the business of insuring so let the taxpayers stand aside and let them do their job. These "awards" set a very bad president. We did not place any awards for the Oklahoma bomings, the USS Cole, or at any other event in history of which I am aware. Where does it end? My son is a policeman. If he is killed by a terrorist , do my grandchildren receive 1.65 million dollars? How many people have to be killed at one time for their relatives to receive awards? Are one, two, two hundred lives any less precious than any others? I feel the victim's relatives should receive only what they would be entitled to if they were killed on the job and not one cent more, and not one cent of taxpayer's money. Please don't do this to the taxpayer.
Respectfully,
