COMMENTS IN RE: VICTIMS COMPENSATION FUND

JANAURY 11TH, 2002

----------

Master Feinberg,

My name is             and I lost my sister,             on September 11th at the World Trade Center. She worked on the             Floor in Tower 1. I hear that the floor that she was on was directly in the line of "fire" My sister didn't get a chance to make a phone call to say good-bye, let alone know what happened. I feel that there is no dollar amount that you can place on pain and suffering, but to place a "low" dollar amount is incomprehensible. This amount of $250,000 would be for example, money awarded in a lawsuit concerning a car accident and leaving somebody with a permanent back injury, not for the loss of a life. Master Feinberg, more important, you have failed to recognize that this was no accident, this was act of terrorism., which the United States is partly responsible for, because they did not make it a top priority. The families of our loved ones, will never and can never forget this day. This was war, it will go down in history. So lets not treat this like an ordinary lawsuit, our families will have pain and suffering for the rest of our lives, and that is worth more than $250,000. Besides pain and suffering, there is also lack of companionship and loss of enjoyment in life. I know my parents lives will never by the same. In a blink of an eye, everyone's lives have change. Not a day goes by that I wish I had my old life back and it was September 10th. If you are not going to at least raise the 250,000 and then don't take away any collateral (no insurance or pension). These victims have paid into these benefits, don't take that away also. Isn't the loss of a life enough.

Master Feinberg, I am confident that you will do the right thing by the victims families.

Thank you .
