To Whom it May Concern:

As a mother of four small children who lost their father on September 11, I find it offensive that the fund deducts collateral sources of income from insurance etc.. What type of message are you sending to the public when you penalize those who may have done the prudent thing and actually gone out and paid for some level of life insurance. No amount of life insurance is going to compensate for my husband's earning potential over his lifetime. Furthermore, to cap the salary level at such a low level also does our family a diservice. Finally, the fact that the fund only allows $250,000 for pain and suffering knowing full well that a jury would award a much hicher level is insulting.

I am not trying to win lotto here. I am just trying to ensure a lifestyle for my children that we worked all of these years to attain.

Sincerely,

If nothing else, you should pay the families that had life insurance the present value of the cash stream which supported that policy over the life that they paid for it.
