victim compensation
I very strongly oppose the compensation for the victims and/or their families
from the Sep 11 attack.
The American people gave many, many dollars to the various charitable
organizations to help these people. Also, I would think these people also
had private insurance.
I do not believe it is the role of government to compensate someone for a
tragedy in their life. You can call me hardhearted, but people die every day
through no fault of their own, and the government does not give them a pile
of money.
If my husband was to die suddenly, would you compensate me? I don't think
so.
It is up to each individual to prepare for the loss of a husband, wife,
child, or any other family member. Again, it is not the role of government!
I sincerely hope you will rescind this.
