While the events of 9/11 are tragic indeed, I (and many others) do not feel it is the
governments responsibility to make the survivors wealthy because of their loss of a
loved one. The fund should be designed to help, the key word being "help" those less fortunate! I find it appalling that the family members can get up and say "you can't
put a price on our loss" yet that is exactly what they are doing. It seems as if money is a top priority for many of the survivors. Many of the survivors are better off financially than the average tax payer (who will be footing the bill for this fund). I gave very generously to numerous fund raisers for WTC victims, as did most of America because we do care about our fellow citizens and want to help take care of them. I just don't feel it is the governments responsibility. If a tragic event like this happens again is the government prepared to help those victims the same way?
