Fwd: Victims' Compensation Fund

To Kenneth Feinberg Special Master,

I received this e mail from a dear friend of mine whose husband was killed at the WTC. I feel that there is an injustice being perpetrated. Thank you for your attention in this

Victims' Compensation Fund

Dear Friends,

There are several unfair issues as established under the rules set forth by the Special Master. People like myself would actually receive nothing under the rules set forth. I don't think that is fair. We are being penalized for living according to the rules, paying into pensions, life insurance etc. All of that will be deducted from the compensation.

They include:

1. use of out of date statistics to compute the tables set forth for compensation

2. $250,000 as the maximum award for non-economic loss (with $50,000 for each dependent.)

3. families should be fully informed of their compensation prior to surrendering their right to litigate

4. elimination of the 24 hour rule which limits the ability to seek compensation if you were injured helping at the WTC and did not seek medical assistance within 24 hours.

5. decrease in compensation through subtraction of pension, social security, workers'compensation and life insurance from the compensation

6. no mention of disabled children in the compensation rules

Any senator or congressman you can think of would be appreciated.

Thanks,
