As a worker who lost my job as a direct result of September 11, I am sickened that my tax dollars are going to make victims of the terrorist attacks all millionaires, while I can't even pay my rent. Right after the attacks, I, as well as millions of others, gave money to funds to help the families of victims, and from what I understand there are millions of dollars in charitable funds to help these people. What is the point of the government being in the charity business for this one act? And from what I understand, many of the greedy families are complaining that they're not getting enough; that their insurance, etc, cuts in on their windfall! What is this, the lottery? I am sorry for all their loss, but I don't think that making these people millionaires off the backs of those who can't afford it is going to bring any of their loved ones back. This money would be better used for combatting the terrorists.
